The punctured spinal cord resulted in numerous neurological problems including, among others, numbness in her hands and feet, and pain in her neck, a feeling of constant downward pressure on her neck and shoulders, electric shock-like symptoms and involuntary muscle movements.
We successfully resolved an orthopedic medical malpractice case for a Greece woman whose orthopedic surgeon improperly removed extensive medial meniscus tissue. The medial meniscus is the cartilage in the knee that provides the cushion between the large thigh bone (femur) and the large lower leg bone (tibia) and distributes the weight placed on the tibia so it does not bear down on one spot. Unfortunately, because the orthopedic surgeon removed so much of the medial meniscus, what remains is unable to perform its intended cushioning and weight distributing functions, resulting in arthritis, catching, locking, and progressively worsening knee pain.
Substantial verdict including punitive damages in product liability case where manufacturer made defective product which injured working electrical lineman from the Town of Greece.
Faraci Lange successfully prosecuted a claim on behalf of a Greece resident who sustained serious injuries as a result of a defective and dangerous entryway to a public building. As a result of the dangerous entryway, the person fell and sustained a cervical fracture.
Faraci Lange successfully resolved the claim during trial of a Greece woman whose husband died of malignant mesothelioma after working for 35 years at Eastman Kodak Company as a sheet metal worker and being exposed to asbestos used in insulation and other products at work. The claim was settled with numerous manufacturers of products containing asbestos that were used at Kodak by workers such as the decedent.
Faraci Lange successfully resolved a case on behalf of the Estate, wife and son of a town Judge who was admitted to the hospital with severe pancreatitis, and who died three days later as a result of the hospital’s mismanagement of the patient’s fluid therapy.
Faraci Lange successfully resolved a claim on behalf of a Greece resident who while hospitalized was given pain medications in a crushed form by the hospital staff. As a result, the patient sustained an overdose of the time released Oxycontin which led to an anoxic brain injury. As a result of the anoxic brain injury the patient sustained paralysis to one side of the body.
