Nicholas J. Pontzer

ASSOCIATE
Mr. Pontzer focuses his practice on commercial and real estate litigation, and labor and employment cases involving termination issues, discrimination, and wage and hour claims.

Upon graduation from the University of Chicago Law School in 2008, Mr. Pontzer joined the Chicago office of Lovells LLP as an associate in the commercial litigation department. While at Lovells, Mr. Pontzer handled cases in state and federal courts involving a wide range of issues, including contract disputes, fraud, business torts, and unfair competition. He has presented at several legal education programs and seminars for other attorneys on the topics of e-discovery, personal jurisdiction, and other aspects of litigation.

Mr. Pontzer has successfully represented clients ranging from individuals to large corporations. Mr. Pontzer’s representative experience includes advising a private equity firm in a contract dispute with a foreign company, which resulted in a settlement of over 20 million dollars. He has also defended an international race car series against a multimillion-dollar claim by a former franchisee.

Mr. Pontzer is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Monroe County Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association.
