Ruth is a native of Rochester. She attended Nazareth Academy and Monroe Community College. She has been working in the legal field since 1978; first as a legal secretary for Raymond Pauley and then as a litigation secretary with Harris, Beach.

Ruth joined the Faraci Lange firm in 1988 as an asbestos paralegal; work in which she continues to be involved.  She has also worked on breast implant cases. Ruth now focuses on motor vehicle, wrongful death and medical malpractice cases.
