Albany Nursing Home Slow to React After Resident's Arm Broken by Aide

|

An elderly woman whose arm was broken by a nursing home aide was under the care of her assailant for another five hours as two supervisors ignored the woman's pleas for help through the night, according to court and state records.

The incident took place Aug. 17 at Hudson Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on Northern Boulevard in Albany.

The aide recently pleaded guilty to a felony in Albany County Court and will be sentenced in March. An investigation by the state Health Department, which was filed with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, indicates that Hudson Park failed to protect and care for the 84-year-old woman for more than 12 hours after she was assaulted.
