Faraci Lange Partner, Hadley Matarazzo, successfully resolved eight cases involving defective medical devices for Rochester natives whose hips were replaced with defective M2a Magnum Metal-on-Metal Hip Systems ("Biomet Magnum Hip"), which failed and had to be removed.
The Biomet Magnum Hip suffers from defects that cause extensive wear on the surfaces of the ball and socket bearings, causing the generation of excessive metal debris that damages the tissue and bone surrounding the hip joint. As a result, patients endured unnecessary pain and suffering, debilitating lack of mobility, inflammation in the hip area, and revision surgeries to replace the defective Biomet Magnum Hip leading to further debilitation and another recovery period.
